Take Advantage of the Child Dental Benefits Schedule
The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) is an Australian government program that helps eligible families access affordable dental care for their children. If your child qualifies, the CDBS provides up to $1,000 in benefits over two consecutive calendar years for basic dental services.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the CDBS, your child must be:
- Aged 2-17 years old
- Eligible for Medicare
- Part of a family receiving certain government payments like Family Tax Benefit Part A
You will be notified by mail if your child qualifies for the CDBS. You can also confirm eligibility by calling Medicare on 132 011. Alternatively, you can call our front desk, and our staff will be happy to check it for you, saving you time.
Covered Dental Services
The CDBS covers a range of common dental treatments for children, such as:
- Examinations and x-rays
- Cleaning, scaling and fluoride treatments
- Fillings and sealants
- Root canals
- Extractions
However, benefits are not provided for orthodontic, sedation, cosmetic or hospital-based dental services.
Using Your Child’s Dental Benefits
